These easy air fryer mushrooms are a delicious side dish, made with just a few simple staple ingredients. Cooking mushrooms in the air fryer in so easy, and they come out tender, crispy, and bursting with flavor.
It’s now officially known that a great way to cook mushrooms is through the use of an air fryer. And why? Because air frying mushrooms can be cooked quicker than oven roasting or making stovetop sautéed mushrooms. They leave less mess and use less oil, which is why this has become my favorite recipe.
And it’s precisely for these reasons that I completely love cooking my eggs, zucchini, sweet potato fries, and even that pork tenderloin inside my air fryer!
And did I say how amazing that these air fryer garlic mushrooms are vegan, Whole30, Paleo, gluten free, Keto, and low carb?
In simple terms, the ingredients in this recipe work for so many diets and are one deliciously flavored healthy side dish. Maybe the best thing about this recipe, however, is that it’ll make even the biggest mushroom skeptic become a mushroom lover!
Still, don’t knock air-fried mushrooms. Try this recipe and you’ll be dancing. It makes for an excellent way to make a super easy side dish that pairs well with almost any fast dinner. You’re gonna love it! If time’s on your side, pair these with bbq chicken drumsticks!
What’s not to love about buttery mushrooms cooked in the air fryer? This simple recipe is great because:
I always pick up a package of baby Bella mushrooms on my weekly grocery run. The other basic ingredients are staples of most households, so there’s usually not another trip to the grocery store required. Here’s what you’ll need:
mushrooms
garlic
olive oil or butter salt, and pepper, to taste
I like to use baby bellas or white button mushrooms. You can actually use cremini, portobello, or any other kind of whole mushrooms which you prefer.
I like to use fresh or frozen garlic, but the powder will do if you like that better or all you have.
Of course, depending on what kind of dish I’m serving this with, I prefer to use either olive oil or sesame oil in this recipe. When the main dish is Asian-inspired, I use sesame oil. If it has Italian or American influences, I go with olive oil. You can also use avocado oil! Sprinkle a little fresh herbs like the green onions or parsley for the air fryer mushroom recipe. You can really add flavor this way. You can also add butter coconut aminos or balsamic vinegar to add flavor!
The air fryer cooks with convection, making it a fantastic tool to cook anything you prefer to get a little crispy without the use of a lot of oil. I just love finding healthier ways to cook my favorite things, don’t you?
Preheat the Air Fryer
The first thing you need to do is preheat your air fryer to 400°F (204°C).
Regardless of whether your air fryer have a preheat setting, don’t skirt this step. You actually need to preheat your air fryer, you simply will not be alarmed when it arrives at temperature. Turn it on and stand by five minutes or something like that.
Prep the Mushrooms
While you look out for the air fryer to preheat, set up the air fryer vegetables. Utilize a sharp blade and cut the mushrooms fifty. Assuming that they’re particularly enormous, cut them into quarters. Then, at that point, mince the new garlic.
Move the mushrooms and garlic to a medium estimated bowl, and utilize an enormous spoon to throw along with the oil. Season softly with salt and pepper.
Air Fry the Garlic Mushrooms
Once the preheat is finished, empty the mushrooms into the bushel of your air fryer.
Under typical conditions, you’d need to cook in clusters, ensuring you left a lot of room between each piece of food preparing. Be that as it may, since mushrooms recoil down so rapidly, it’s thoroughly OK assuming that they’re contacting a tad.
Close the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes, then stop to gently shake the basket or use a spatula or tongs to turn each one of them.
This helps to make sure any pieces that are still touching get an adequate amount of time exposed to the circulating hot air. But even by the halfway point, the mushrooms will have shrunk down quite a bit, leaving plenty of space for the air to circulate.
Air fry the juicy mushrooms for another 5-7 minutes, checking near the end of the cook time to make sure they aren’t overcooking.
Once the tender air fryer mushrooms are cooked through and getting crispy on the outside, they’re done.
Pour them onto a plate, and serve!
What to Serve with Air Fryer Mushrooms
These is the ideal side dish for any of your number one feasts. Garlic mushrooms pair perfectly with air fryer tilapia, barbecued marinated chicken, a delicious steak or garlic margarine steak chomps, or even jammy bubbled eggs!
You can add these to a hearty bowl of homemade ramen or a delicious beef and broccoli stir fry too.
Adding these as a burger topping would be so yummy too. Serving some mushrooms with grilled bruschetta chicken or a beef marinade is always so flavorful!
How to Store Air Fried Mushrooms
Transfer any delicious air fried leftovers to an airtight container, or a bowl and tightly covered with plastic wrap. Store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. I do not recommend freezing leftover cooked mushrooms.

This simple air fryer mushrooms recipe will provide you with the best outcome if you make use of the following tips:
That will also depend on the size of your mushrooms, too, but large mushrooms take longer to cook than small ones do, so cut them in equal-size pieces so that all are cooked evenly, or you’ll be left with those sticky garlic mushrooms over-done to some underdone.
Of course, this number will depend on how big your air fryer is-but don’t stack them too high. In most cases, you don’t have to do much to begin with: you just need to make sure they are in one layer. Otherwise, this may overfill your basket. Freshness counts for mushrooms. So, when buying at the market, try getting the freshest at the grocery store to get the best flavor and texture.
